I have read the book Mio´s Kingdom that was written by the famous author Astrid Lindgren. The book came out in Sweden 1954 and was later translated in English and other languages. Astrid is also known of writing other famous books like Pippi Longstocking and The Brothers Lionheart.
Mio´s Kingdom is about a boy named Karl Anders Nilsson but was also called Andy. His mother died when Andy was a newborn child. The boy ends up in a Children´s home for about a year to Aunt Huld and Uncle Olaf found him and became to be his foster parents.
Andy liked to ask his parents where his dad was. They always told him that his father was an idiot and abandon him, but the fact is that his father is the king in the Land of Faraway. In one evening when Andy was on his way to the bakery he got taken to his father and ends up in the Farawayland.
In Farawayland Andy gets to know that's his real name is Mio. He also gets to know his new best friend Pompoo and his magic horse named Miramis. Together they go out on different adventures. In the last adventure they fight Sir Kato who has kidnapped a lot of kids.
I don´t like the book because I don't think it was exiting, but it is a good book when you trying to learn a new language because it easy to understand. I would recommend this book for all ages because I think the book fits everyone.
