Publishing on Mobile Stories

Publications on Mobile Stories are divided into two different sections depending on whether the content is professional material created by the Editorial Office or the Mobile Stories Young Citizens Journalists.

For professional content, we operate under the responsibility of a legally designated publisher. These articles are marked with the label Editorial Office. This legal responsibility means that one person is solely accountable for any press and freedom of expression violations as defined by the Swedish Fundamental Law on Freedom of Expression (Yttrandefrihetsgrundlagen) and the Freedom of the Press Act (Tryckfrihetsförordningen). The responsible publisher must also ensure that professional content aligns with the Media Ethics Guidelines. For mobilestories.com, Jenny Sköld is the legally responsible publisher for professional content.

The Young Citizens Journalists´ content, on the other hand, is marked with the name of the school or project to which the articles belong. For this content, The Act on Responsibility for Electronic Bulletin Boards applies (Lagen om ansvar för elektroniska anslagstavlor) —meaning the same laws and rules as those governing social media posts, comment sections of news websites, or most blogs. This means that the creator is responsible for ensuring that the material does not violate any laws, just like in any other digital space they are used to in their everyday life. Creators are also responsible for ensuring their published articles follow the Young Reporter´s Code of Ethics and their school’s core values if the work is conducted in a school setting.
