The Student Council elections at Colegiul Național “Octavian Goga” came to an end on February 20 and a new leadership team is ready to take charge and bring fresh ideas.
The Student Council plays an essential role in shaping students’ life at CNOG, and the elections provide an opportunity for pupils to voice their concerns and select leaders who represent their interests.
At the forefront of this new leadership team is Theea Todăriță, who has been elected as the President of the Student Council. She will be working alongside a dedicated team, including two vice presidents, a student Advocate and a secretary, all committed to bringing innovative ideas to life and representing the interests of their peers.
The journey to election day was nothing short of exhilarating. The students who were interested in running for a position had to submit their candidacy before February 15 and also present their ideas and visions to the class representatives. This was their opportunity to showcase their plans for improving student life and explain why they were the right choice for leadership. Following these presentations, their proposals were shared on social media, giving every student a chance to review them in detail before casting their vote. The voting process was intense, with a large number of people actively engaged in the campaign, casting their votes, and eagerly awaiting the results.

When asked about her priorities as the new Student Council President, Theea Todăriță expressed both gratitude and determination: “First of all, I am very grateful for the support of all the students in our high school who trusted me and voted for me. My main goal, through the upcoming projects, is to improve the high school atmosphere so that students can enjoy coming to classes. Some examples of projects I would like to implement together with my team this school year include: a new series of sports tournaments (volleyball, football, and also introducing a dance competition), creating an “Open Doors Day” to promote Octavian Goga’s educational opportunities and facilities, as well as implementing a career orientation project, which involves students visiting the workplaces of various professionals, to understand their work better and be able to make more informed decisions about possible careers. The elections process was a journey full of emotions, but now that I have achieved my goal, I will pursue my plans with responsibility and commitment."
The reactions to the election results have been largely positive, with students expressing excitement about the changes the new team might bring. Ștefania Dordea, a student voter explained her feelings: “I am pleased with the results. The candidates were all very strong, but I believe the new council has what it takes to make a real difference. I’m looking forward to seeing their ideas put into action.”
As the new student council members prepare to assume their roles, there’s a palpable sense of anticipation among the students. With their campaign promises now on the table, the real work begins. The entire student body are ready to see how the new leaders will shape the future of their school, making it a more inclusive, engaging, and vibrant environment for everyone. The journey has only just begun, but one thing is clear—a new era of leadership means the future is filled with endless possibilities.
