Why oh why are there so much snooker on television

Every time my television is turned on I´m naturally drawn to the sports channels. But there is to much snooker on compared with other sports such as Darts, Rugby or even Highland games. Why is that?
Our entire household litteraly hate Snooker. All these guys with fancy clothes.....
