Have you ever wonder why so many of us feel the strong urge to take pictures during special events? From weddings to birthdays and graduations, to family reunions, we keep our cameras and phones very close at hand, always ready to freeze beautiful moments in time. But why does photography play such a important role in our lives?
Before photography, people used other ways of capturing events such as painting, carving, storytelling, and writing. Photography changed everything ,it provided every individual with a way of capturing moments of their life and as a result, holding on to them. In many ways photos are not just pictures they are a way to travel back in time and relive feelings, locations, and bonds.
Maybe at its core our fondness for photography is likely because we are afraid of losing the memories, the love and connections , the experiences that we once lived. By taking photos we make sure that our memories remain on our phones or albums, even if they might fade from our minds.
This is the reason why family albums, framed pictures, and galleries are very valuable. They serve as a reminder of who we are and where we come from.
Photography has changed the art, journalism, and communication . Some pictures have come to be used to explain certain events in history such as the moon landing and the fall of the Berlin Wall. In-person, photography changes the way we live and document our lives and celebrate them, especially with the use of social media platforms.

With the use of smartphones, everyone can become a storyteller.
In conclusion, photography reveals a heartfelt human truth and that is the fact we value the ability to remember and share our stories. Some might say that this obsession with taking photos might put us off from living the moment it's obvious that they carry significant worth. They make us remember of ourselves, our passions, and our relationships with the people we love and cherish.
