My Grandparents' Room

Many people think that special places must be big, modern, or far away. But sometimes, the most important places are the simple ones that make us feel safe and happy. In this essay, I want to talk about a place that means a lot to me. It is not a famous city or a vacation spot. It is just a small room at my grandparents’ house, but for me, it feels like a second home.
Every summer I go to the village to visit my grandparents. They live in a small house that is very different from my apartment in the city. Everything is slower there, more quiet, and it feels like time stops. The room where I stay during the summer is my favorite place in the whole world. It may look old and simple, but for me, it feels like a secret place, like my own little world.
The room has a wooden bed, an old closet, and a big window. The walls are a bit faded, and the furniture creaks when I open the drawers. There is a small table with a lamp and some books. From the window, I can see the garden where my grandfather grows vegetables. Every morning I wake up with the smell of bread from the kitchen and the sound of chickens outside. The sunlight comes through the curtains and makes everything look golden.
There is no television and no Wi-Fi in the room. At first, I didn’t like that. I missed my phone, my games, and watching videos. But after a few days, I started to enjoy the quiet. I read some books that I found in the room. I drew in my notebook. I sat by the window and just looked at the sky, the trees, and the garden. Sometimes, I helped my grandmother in the kitchen or went with my grandfather to the market. We didn’t talk a lot, but I liked just being with them. I felt peaceful.
That room helped me see things differently. I understood that I don’t always need noise, screens, or a lot of things to be happy. I realized that small moments like drinking tea with my grandmother, hearing the rain on the roof, or watching the sunset can be really special. The room made me feel calm and safe. I didn’t think about school or problems. I just felt like I was in the right place.
Now, even when I am back in the city and the summer is over, I still think about that room. It gives me a warm feeling inside. It’s not just a place to sleep. It’s a place where I feel free and happy, where everything makes sense. That room at my grandparents' house is like a second home for me. It is my secret refuge, and I hope it never changes.
