Hedise, 16, Dunya, 15, and Safa, 15, are ready to ask their questions directly to the people in power who are present. “I want to make them think from a different perspective, ask questions that might get them thinking and then make them take action,” says Dunya.
For four intense days, the Youth Editorial Team will interview people in power and artists, give us some behind-the-scenes insights, and capture the atmosphere at the festival grounds. The team is based in the Youth Editorial Tent, a collaboration between Mobile Stories, Ung Media, and 4Inclusion.
“I’m looking forward to EVERYTHING – meeting politicians, artists, interviewing people,” says Safa, who lives in the Järva area herself. She is one of the young reporters who will be covering Järva Week on site.
Järva Week begins on June 11 at Spånga IP in the Järva area of northern Stockholm. The event brings together local residents, community organizations, and politicians from across the country to discuss social challenges and possible solutions.
Party leaders, or sometimes other well-known politicians from the different parliamentary parties, speak from the main stage and meet with journalists. Among those who will be asking the questions are Safa, Hadise, and Dunya – three of the young reporters who make up this year’s Youth Editorial Team.
Excitement is bubbling as the girls discuss which questions to ask. They are all active in the organization En frisk generation (“A Healthy Generation”), so health is close to their hearts – and, like many others, they’re upset about the high food prices.
“How are we supposed to eat healthy when it’s so expensive?” asks Hadise rhetorically, and Dunya joins in.

“That makes many young people choose fast food instead, because it’s cheaper. It creates inequality between different areas – where some can afford good food and others can’t – and that affects people’s health.
When the conversation turns to migration policy, the tone becomes more subdued.
“I see it around me – right now, the wrong people are being deported. Those who study and want to get jobs. Why? That’s a question I want to ask the politicians,” says Safa.
In addition to the political interviews, which will be published on Mobilestories.com, the Youth Editorial Team will also take part in a youth panel on the main stage each day, where they will share their views on current social issues, highlight their own experiences, and analyze the day’s party leader speeches.
